Introducing TrueVoice

Hear yourself as others do

Voice recording and playback features have long been a part of expensive PC-based language learning software. The fact that each of us sounds different to ourselves than we do to others has always been an obstacle to teaching accurate pronunciation.

Now Pronuncian allows you to record your own voice and compare your pronunciation to our audio files online, at a fraction of the cost of other software!

True Voice allows subscribers to listen to our example audio, record themselves saying the same text, and then playing back both the recording of the example and themselves to compare the two directly.

TrueVoice allows you to assess your own speech accurately, every time.

Pronuncian Makes it Easy!

  • Log in to Pronuncian.com
  • Go to the Sounds page and pick a sound to practice
  • Listen to one or more of the example word audio for that sound
  • Record yourself saying the same word
  • Play back first our example, then your own recording
  • Compare the two, and adjust your accent to match!

Listen. Record. Compare. It's that easy! Use the feature as often as you like, as frequently as you need to in order to identify and fix the issue.

Will Your Computer Work With Truevoice?

In addition to working speakers and microphone, you must have Java version 1.4.2 or greater. The plugin below will tell you!

If your version of Java is not high enough, you can download the latest version from the Java website. Please ensure that your computer will be capable of safely using the newest version; Pronuncian is not responsible for software downloaded from other websites.

BROWSER UPDATE: Newer versions of Webkit-based browsers (Safari 5 and Google Chrome) appear to have recording problems on Mac OS X. Firefox on OS X will work and can be downloaded for free from getfirefox.com.

TrueVoice requires a subscription to Pronuncian, which can cost as little as $15 per month. Click here to Join Now
